Chapter I: Main Circuit of Rectifying Device

I. Overview

1. Purpose and classification:

It applies to large-current DC power supply in the electrolytics industry and metal industry and can be used as power supply for aluminum, magnesium, zinc, manganese and lead electrolysis, DC electric arc furnace melting, salt electrolysis, water electrolysis, graphitization furnace and silicon carbide and the power supply of similar load nature.

2. Electrical conditions for normal use:

2.1 The electrical conditions for normal use shall meet the provisions in 5.2 of GB/T3859.1, and the voltage waveform, fluctuation range, frequency change and symmetry degree of the AC network shall meet the requirements in 5.2.2 of GB/T3859.1 Adaption of the rectifier to the electrical conditions shall meet the requirements for immunity level B in 5.2 of GB/T3859.1.

2.2 The altitude does not exceed 1000m.

2.3 During equipment operation, the limiting temperature range of the surrounding environment and cooling water shall meet the following provisions and the non-condensation running conditions shall be considered according to GB/T3859.2-1993.

Limiting temperature of environment and cooling water: indoor environment temperature -5℃~+40℃ at the inlet, with the change no more than 30℃ within 24h. Cooling water temperature 5℃~30℃.

Note: If the environment temperature and cooling water temperature of the rectifier exceed above temperature, the rated current shall be properly corrected according to GB/T3859.

The cooling water shall be drained during disuse of the rectifier to prevent freezing and damage.

2.4 The relative air humidity is no lower than 15% and no higher than 90% (at the air temperature below 20℃)

2.5 The environment temperature variation rate does not exceed 5℃/h and the relative humidity variation rate does not exceed 5%/h.

2.6 There is no conductive, explosive dust or excessive dust, gas or steam corroding metal or 

destroying insulation in the operation site.

2.7 There is no violent vibration or impact and the vertical gradient during installation does not exceed 5%.

2.8 Indoor use (lockable electrical operation site)

4. Operation and storage

When the rectifier running environment temperature or the cooling medium temperature is higher than the temperature in Table 2, the load capacity shall be corrected and reduced according to the on-state current and shell temperature in the corresponding device standard or product specifications.

If the rectifier is stored in a low-temperature environment, the moisture condensation in the equipment shall be avoided to prevent freezing from damaging the equipment.
